Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has hired Mood Rowghani as a Partner focused on investments in the Digital practice, targeting high growth internet companies that have achieved strong adoption and scale. Prior to KPCB, Mood worked for five years at Summit Partners, where he led the firm’s Internet & Digital Media practice in North America. Mood was actively involved across Summit’s internet portfolio, including serving as a Director at Announce Media, where he helped lead the take-private acquisition of Answers Corporation (NASDAQ: ANSW). Previously, Mood was with Highland Capital Partners, where he was actively involved with Vistaprint (NASDAQ: VPRT) and Coremetrics (acquired by IBM). He also spent two years at McKinsey & Company, where he served Global 1000 clients in the high tech industry. Mood has an MBA from The Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from The University of Texas.

SilverLake Partners, Appoints Raj Atluru as Managing Director
Silver Lake Partners, a global private investment firm with approximately $14 billion in assets under management,  has announced that Raj Atluru has joined the firm.  Mr. Atluru will be Managing Director of Silver Lake Kraftwerk, the energy-focused  investment platform formed by Silver Lake Partners and Soros Fund Management.  Prior to joining SLKW, Raj was a Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson where he has led that firm’s cleantech investments since 2001. In 2005, Raj led the firm's partnership with partner fund Element Partners, to launch DFJ Element, one of the largest dedicated cleantech funds. Raj previously worked in the leveraged finance and Asian corporate finance groups at Credit Suisse in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore and also spent three years with TL Ventures where he focused on early stage software, wireless communications and energy technologies. Raj received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Stanford University where he taught the solar and wind energy lab and was a full time research assistant on the Waste Isolation Pilot Project for Sandia National Labs (Department of Defense Nuclear Repository Study). In addition, he received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

ID Analytics Hires David Ives
ID Analytics, Inc., a leader in consumer risk management solutions, announced today that David Ives has joined the company as Chief Client Officer bringing with him more than 15 years of industry experience leading sales and channel teams. Previously, Ives was Executive Vice President, Global Head of Sales and Client Relations at Dealogic, where he was responsible for managing sales and client relations teams. He oversaw the generation of $60 million in recurring revenue and more than 360 global accounts managing teams in New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Sydney. Prior to Dealogic, Ives held various executive positions at Reuters, most recently serving as Director of Sales responsible for buy side Americas. Earlier he was the Vice President, Key Accounts at Multex prior to its acquisition by Reuters. Ives started his career in account management positions at FAME Information Services, Data Broadcasting Company and Bridge Information Services where he was responsible for selling data management, data analysis and retrieval systems via the Internet, as well as desktop solutions to financial service companies and the investment community. He earned his BA from St. Lawrence University. ID Analytics has raised growth financing from Trinity Ventures, Mission Ventures, Investor Growth Capital, and Canaan Partners.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has hired Maritza Liaw as a Partner focused on greentech investments from the firm’s Green Growth Fund. Prior to joining KPCB, Maritza served as COO at Energy Logics and Director of Finance at NaturEner USA and NaturEner Canada. At NaturEner, Maritza helped finance NaturEner’s first utility-scale wind farms in Montana, negotiate tax-equity financing agreements, analyze price dynamics in merchant power markets, evaluate merchant transmission opportunities, develop wind farm budgets and projections, and negotiate contracts for the sale of renewable energy certificates. Prior to building wind farms, Maritza helped commercialize global inventory tracking solutions at SaviNetworks, a joint venture of Savi Technology (purchased by Lockheed Martin) and Hutchinson Port Holdings. Maritza was also a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Maritza received a BA in Economics and BS in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has hired Brook Porter as a Partner on the Greentech team. His focus is on innovative low-carbon solutions to transportation, chemicals, and power generation. Prior to Kleiner Perkins, Brook co-founded multiple companies.  His most recent role was as Chief Operating Officer of Primafuel, a biofuel technology company recognized in 2008 by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer, where he led all aspects of engineering and operations and played a critical role in multiple financings for the company.  Previously, Brook co-founded a hydrogen fuel cell technology company acquired by Intelligent Energy, a UK-based company known for its compact Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cells. He was also a co-developer of the ENV Fuel Cell Motorcycle, recognized by Time Magazine and Popular Science as one of the Best Inventions of 2005. Brook is currently named on multiple US and International patents in the field of renewable energy. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley with an emphasis in Environmental Technology.

Acxiom® Corporation (Nasdaq: ACXM),$1.4 billion global interactive marketing services company, announced today that Clark M. Kokich has been named to the Board of Directors. Mr. Kokich is the currently the Chairman of the Board of Razorfish, a leading Seattle-based global consultancy in digital marketing and technology acquired in 2007 by Microsoft. He has been with Razorfish for over ten years, serving in a number of key positions, including Chief Executive Officer. Lifelock, the industry leader in identity theft protection services, has hired Marvin Davis as Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to joining Lifelock, Mr. Davis was the Chief Marketing Officer for Comcast where he launched Comcast's Triple Play strategy and led the branding campaign "Comcastic". Earlier he was VP of Advertising and Brand Management for Verizon Wireless and oversaw Verizon's "Can You Hear Me Now?" advertising campaign. Chegg.com hires Dan Rosenweig from Activision as Chief Executive Officer
Chegg, the leading provider of online textbook rentals, has hired Dan Rosensweig as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rosensweig joins Chegg from Activision where he was President & Chief Executive Officer of the Guitar Hero franchise. Prior, he was an Operating Partner at Quadrangle Group and also served as Chief Operating Officer of Yahoo! where he oversaw worldwide operations, including product development, marketing, ad sales. Before Yahoo!, Mr. Rosensweig spent 18 years at Ziff Davis, most recently as President. He was also President of ZDNet, President of Ziff Davis Internet Publishing, and Publisher of PC Magazine. He is a graduate of Hobart College. Based in Santa Clara, Chegg has raised private financing from Foundation Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Primera Capital, Gabriel Ventures, and Insight Venture Partners.

3VR, the pioneer of searchable surveillance, has hired Al Shipp as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Shipp joins 3VR from Apple Computer where he was SVP, Enterprise Division responsible for global direct sales and marketing into enterprise customers. Earlier, he was the President of Critical Path and SVP Worldwide Field Operations at Inktomi. Prior, Mr. Shipp was President, eCommerce Server Division and President, Worldwide Sales at BEA with $1.2B in revenue responsibility. Earlier in his career he was an executive at IBM where he climbed the sales ranks and ultimately became VP, West Region Software Sales with $1.8B in revenues. Al earned a degree in Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute. The company has raised private funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, VantagePoint Venture Partners, DAG Ventures, and In-Q-Tel.

Simon Khalaf Joins Flurry, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer
Flurry, Inc., a mobile services company that offers the leading free unified messaging platform for the everyday cell phone user, has recruited Simon Khalaf as CEO. Simon brings a unique mixture of mobile, media and leadership experience to Flurry. He was previously the CEO of both Vernier Networks, a wireless hardware company, and Volera, a market leading content and media delivery platform, which he sold to Novell in 2003. Before that he was the founder and head of marketing of Worldtalk, an internet security company that was acquired by Tumbleweed. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from The American University of Beirut and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. Flurry has received venture funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Borealis Ventures.
